About Us: At RS Sailing, our Cowes workshop is where we produce a variety of boats in the RS range. In addition, we research then develop new projects and techniques; bringing them from ideas into production.
Position Overview: As a GRP Laminator or Composite Technician, you will be involved in hand layup as well as infusion layup using vinyl ester and polyester resin systems for various boats in the RS range. Being able to work with others or alone, working from drawings whilst documenting usage of materials.

- Layup of wet and dry laminations from drawings.
- Gel application.
- Trimming and sanding parts.
- Kit cutting.
- Workshop housekeeping.
- Attention to detail
Essential Skills:
- Physical fitness.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Reliability and flexibility.
- Efficient work ethic without constant supervision.
- ·Able to work from drawings.
- ·Basic paperwork completion abilities.
- Good housekeeping.
- Willing to learn new skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Boatbuilding with infusion experience
- Experience in GRP repairs.
- Gelcoat Repairs
- Spraying of Gelcoat
